The first thing to check is to see if your current video card is on the supported list for Trials of Atlantis. You may view this list by typing in the keyword "video" and clicking on the link "What video cards are currently supported and not supported for Trials of Atlantis?" If you see your video card under the "not supported" section, the following solutions may not work for you.
If you have a GeForce based video card installed and are experiencing this error please double check the following:
First please make sure you have DirectX9.0c from the following link:
Next, download theÂ latest drivers from nVidia's website at Â
Once that file is on your desktop, please right click my computer, select properties and click on device manager. Once in that section uninstall the listed video card under display adapter by right clicking the video card and selecting remove.
Once this has been done it should prompt you to reboot (you may need to exit out of the Device Manager). Reboot the PC and when it comes back up do NOT let Windows 98/ME install the device for you. Choose Cancel to all windows until you get back onto your desktop in 16 color mode.
Once you are at this point, click theÂ driver file you downloaded from nVidia. It will prompt you to reboot afterwards, please do.
Once you are back on your desktop, please try running Trials of Atlantis once again. .
