What are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Catacombs?

Minimum Requirements:*

Pentium III 1.4GHz or AMD equivalent 512 MB RAM Requires compatible 3D Acceleration card with 64 MB Video RAM DirectX 9.0 or later Internet Connection Required Connection Required For full compatibility details, please check [The DAoC Support Page].

Recommended Requirements:

Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent 1 GB RAM Compatible 3D Acceleration card with 128 MB Video RAM DirectX 9.0 or later Shader 2.X or greater support Internet Connection Required

  • Minimum requirements in this case are being used to represent one specific type of system configuration that we have found to provide good, stable performance when playing Catacombs. Many other types of system configurations will run very well with Catacombs. Although you may not meet a specified requirement with one hardware component, meeting or exceeding a requirement with another hardware component may be suitable enough for you to be able to play trials of Atlantis. Below is an explanation regarding this:

--The most important thing for good performance is your video card. Upgrading your video card will give you the biggest boost to Catacombs game performance, and could allow you to run the game on a slower CPU, etc.

--The second most important thing for good performance is system RAM. Upgrading your RAM to 512 MB or higher will give you a good performance boost.

--Finally, your CPU definitely plays a factor in Catacombs performance. You will achieve better load times and performance from a faster CPU.

What this means is that if you are running a PIII 933 Mhz system with 512MB Ram and a GeForce4 Ti video card (or other similar combinations of components), you will probably have decent performance playing Catacombs.

Please note, there may be other factors that could hinder game performance. Please be sure to search http://support.darkageofcamelot.com] for various troubleshooting topics.
