Please right click the "My Computer" icon. Next select properties. Next click on the Device Manager tab. Next click on the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers option to expand the section. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select properties. Under the advanced settings tab, click on "Transfer Mode" and select "DMA if available" under Device 0. Please perform the same function on Device 1as well.

You may also perform the above on the "Secondary IDE Channel" as well.
